CHIP 2026

Conference Overview

In 2025 the CHIP meeting stuck to its ethos of ‘bringing fresh content in the CHIP space’ with a newly added structural intervention session.

This year’s CHIP meeting will focus on ’Left Main PCI' and addressing hot topics with an end of year round-up on important content. There will be four live cases, conversations with experts and MDT panel discussions.

Whether you're a consultant, trainee, nurse, radiographer, physiologist, or part of the wider cardiac catheter lab team, CHIP 2026 offers something for everyone.

THURSDAY

FRIDAY

13:30 - 17:15 - AHP & Trainees Session

The afternoon kicks off with a dedicated AHP and Trainees session focusing on imaging, rotational atherectomy and IVL in Left Main PCI as well as involvement in solving the calcium left main case. Followed by hands-on training with industry partners Boston Scientific, Penumbra Shockwave.

18:30 - 21:30 - Evening Symposium

A Symposium will take place in the evening, starting with welcome drinks and bowl food, followed by the evening symposium featuring a deep dive Left Main PCI, gone right or wrong. Facilitated by experienced moderators, this session will provide a unique platform for focused learning and case-based discussion.

06:30 - 08:30 - Fellows Breakfast Session

Start the morning off right, by joining the fellows breakfast session, this is designed to cover aspects of Left Main PCI

08:30 - 16:30 - Main Meeting

Friday is dedicated to a full-day live case meeting, featuring interesting discussions where are we with Left Main PCI, severe LVSD and lesion severity. As well as tips on bad techniques, things not to miss and bail out strategies. Designed to bring theory and real-world practice together, as displayed in the live CHIP PCI MDT cases.

Course Directors

Dr Shaukat works as a Consultant Cardiologist in Glasgow Royal Infirmary and Golden Jubilee National Hospital. He trained extensively in all general aspects of cardiology and has specialist interest in coronary disease management and Intervention. He provides inpatient and outpatient services at the Royal Infirmary  & carries out Coronary Intervention at Golden Jubilee National Hospital. He performs wide range of coronary intervention procedures including High speed rotational atherectomy and  participates in the Primary Angioplasty out of hours service for acute heart attacks at the Jubilee Hospital.

Dr Francis Joshi is a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at the Golden Jubilee National Hospital. He also holds the position of Honorary Clinical Senior Lecture at the University of Glasgow.

Dr Mitchell Lindsay is the Lead Consultant Cardiologist at the Golden Jubilee National Hospital.
