OVERVIEW

A national forum for complex PCI

Severely calcified coronary disease remains one of the principal determinants of procedural complexity, stent failure, suboptimal stent expansion and long-term adverse outcomes.

With increasing adoption of intravascular lithotripsy (IVL) across Scotland, there is a clear opportunity to convene a national forum focused on imaging-led calcium assessment, contemporary lesion preparation strategies, hybrid modification techniques and evolving treatment paradigms.

Aimed at consultants and senior trainees, this meeting will act as a Scotland-wide platform for alignment in modern complex PCI practice.

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

What you will learn

  • Apply imaging (IVUS/OCT/CT) to guide calcium modification
  • Select between NC escalation, IVL, atherectomy or hybrid strategies
  • Safely implement hybrid approaches such as RotaShock and OrbitalShock
  • Evaluate IVL + DCB strategies in selected lesions
  • Understand emerging technologies and future treatment directions
  • Identify areas for potential national collaboration
