About
Despite major advances in pharmacotherapy, device technology and management strategies, cardiovascular disease remains a major cause of death and morbidity around the world. Research is the key to improving outcomes for those affected.
The UK has consistently delivered groundbreaking cardiovascular research and the BCIS community has been at the forefront of this for several decades. The research showcased at the 2026 BCIS Young Investigator Award was outstanding (and easily as good an any line up at international YIA competitions in recent years).
In the year since the meeting in Leeds, the quality and impact of multi-centre trials reported by BCIS members has also been staggering. Yet there is a lot to be learned, from new research methodology to working more cohesively with funding bodies, patients and industry collaborators.
The theme this year is to Showcase and Inspire and we have prepared (possibly) the best programme yet!
